Experiential Design + Activation
Work: Brand experience, art installation design, experiential activation
For: The Simple Good
The Simple Good teaches resilience, self-determination, expression, and power to K–12 students in Chicago through arts-based social-emotional learning programs. At the heart of their mission is a single question: What does the simple good mean to you?
The name “The Simple Good” is born from the idea that simple moments of joy, gratitude, and connection are what unite us all. My mission was to translate this deeply human - but often abstract -concept into an engaging, tangible experience for supporters and the public.
Creative Brief
I designed a simple but powerful activation: blank cards that ask, What does the simple good mean to you? Responses, ranging from heartfelt illustrations to declarations of kindness, family, and hope, formed a living, ever-growing collection of community voices. These joyful expressions brought the concept of “the simple good” to life in a deeply personal and accessible way.
The cards have become an instant, resonant touchpoint across all TSG activations. They were the foundation for a live installation at The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art, and now serve as a draw at festivals, classrooms, and community events. They’ve also shaped TSG’s storytelling across digital, print, and donor materials, including the 2024 Annual Report.
By designing this participatory experience, I established a unified visual and emotional language that bridges TSG’s school-based impact with its broader community presence, making “the simple good” both a mission and a movement everyone can see themselves in.
